It has been a great weekend… super busy Saturday followed by a lazy Sunday. During the school year my weekends are usually so packed with grading, and usually my summer weekends include at least one day of retail work, but this weekend was mostly relaxing.
This Saturday, I ran the ACT at the high school. I’ve been running the test for a few years now, and it’s a pretty good gig. It can be hard to get people who want to wake up early on a Saturday, particularly for the summer test date, so I was happy to have enough people working to deal with our HUGE group of testers. After the test (I was at the school from 6:45 until almost 3:00!), I had to jet over to the UPS Store to ship off the 170 lbs of test materials and answer sheets on the way to my hair salon.
I am really, really bad about keeping up with my haircut. It’s just never high on my priority list. I’m also pretty dull when it comes to my styling choices. I’ve been getting roughly the same cut for the past several years, growing it longer, and then cutting it again.
This is the wonderful woman who has been putting up with my dull hairstyle choices for the past almost-12 years, Francine. She is awesome! I highly recommend her if you live in the metro-Atlanta area and need a stylist.
After my haircut, I came home and we got ready to go out for dinner at Smokejack, an awesome BBQ place here in town. I don’t actually like BBQ in general, but Patrick loves their burnt ends and I really like their black & bleu burger (which isn’t on the menu, but they’ll make it for you if you ask). It was a fun evening out with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. I really recommend this place!
Today was a pretty lazy day. As you might notice, I didn’t mention a workout on Saturday, and that’s because I didn’t fit one in between all of the fun of the ACT, haircut, and dinner out. Today I did the Shred DVD and fit in a 5 mile run. Other than working out, my day pretty much revolved around folding laundry, sleeping in, reading, and watching TV. It was nice to have some time to hang out and not rush around.
Tomorrow is Day 10 of the 30 Day Shred, and I’m considering moving on to the Level 2 workout a day early. Level 1 isn’t easy or anything; Jillian is still kicking my butt daily. But I’m able to do the advanced modifications on most of the moves now (except pushups; I will never be able to do that many legit pushups in a row). I feel like Level 2 will definitely give me a good challenge, from what I’ve heard, and it will be something new! I’ll decide for sure after I get home from work tomorrow.
How was your weekend?
